The Crossover

Our Mission

The Crossover is an online student news, arts, and culture publication that presents an honest and independent view of our campus, Champlain College, and student life. We are written by students, for students and we follow practices of open and transparent reporting, research of relevant issues and events, and presenting an authentic and informative perspective.

Our website is divided into four sections: news, features, opinions, and culture. News stories include relevant happenings around campus, and sometimes at the national level, that provide critical information to the Champlain community. Features are stories with in-depth research, careful planning, and human-interest. Opinion pieces delve into the views of the students writing them. Culture stories showcase the social atmosphere on campus, as well as the city of Burlington, including reviews and advice columns. We also have a science bulletin, where you can find summaries of  interesting science stories we curated throughout the week.

We also feature the newest release of the Stall Street Journal, a weekly event calendar curated by the student engagement team.

Our ‘Tip Us Off‘ section allows the Champlain community at large to submit anonymous news-tips to us.
