BURLINGTON, VT —

The accident happened late Monday morning just outside Champlain’s new apartment building, 194 St. Paul Street. A vehicle parked across from the apartment building was sideswiped by the shuttle bus as it pulled up to its Lakeside bound stop on the corner of King and St. Paul streets.

Nic Anderson, associate director of sustainable transportation at Champlain, told us on Tuesday that the construction on St. Paul Street may have led to the accident. “Road construction there forced it to make a sharper turn than normal and the tail swing scraped a car.” Mountain Transit, the shuttle providers, met with police on the scene. Anderson says that Mountain Transit’s insurance will cover all costs.

No one was injured in the accident, and Anderson says no one should be worried about safety when riding the shuttles.

“Mountain Transits prime concern is for the safety of its riders.”

If you have any questions or concerns about the safety of the shuttles, please contact Nic Anderson at [email protected].
